My new puppy learned to ring the bell, within the first couple of days. We have had no accidents since we received the bells. When people come over they are impressed. I would incourage anyone to use this item Read more

I use these bells to call my dogs in from the yard/woods. It sure beats yelling your head off!
I started using a bell when they were young and it works like a charm. Read more

You'll know for whom the bells toll

My older dog had always just ruffled the plastic vertical blinds at the sliding doors of our old house to signal us he wanted to go out. The younger dog was willing to ring the bells on the toy hung from the doorknob for her signal, but he refused. When we moved, we no longer had the plastic blinds for him to ruffle, yet he still refused to ring our old bells.

Your bells not only look nicer hanging from the doorknobs than the toy, they also ring more easily. By putting a little squirt cheese or peanut butter on the bells for him to lick off, and then opening the door EVERY time he made them ring, the old dog has learned a new trick! He now very happily nudges them to ask to go out. And, because there are 4 bells on each, we can hear them well all throughout the house. Read more

We call them Tinkle-Bells in our house.

Years ago my mother inadvertantly bell trained her dog to go outside using bells that she had hung on the doorknob as a Christmas decoration. The dog figured out that when the bells jingled the door was open and began to play with them. The dog trained herself to use the bells and then trained my mother to open the door whenever they were rung!

When I got a difficult-to-housetrain puppy, I could never figure out her cues to show her need to go outside. This lack of communication resulted in a lot of frustration in the house.

I was reminded of the bells that my mother and her dog used, and hung up a ratty string of bells. Then I found Poochie Bells in a local store. The poochie bells look so much nicer and are very durable.

Within two days my 7 month old pup had figured out that ringing the bells makes someone open the door for her, and within a few weeks she was 100% potty trained. Now I have a 3-month old pup that has figured out the

I hung this on our back door when Bosley was 4 months old and within 1 day he was using it and the potty training went a lot faster as he loved ringing the bells. Now we just need to decide if he needs to potty or wants to play outside..But he got the fact of ringing the bell opened the door for him! Read more
