I purchased this dryer based on the glowing reviews, but I guess I'm not as impressed as the other reviewers are. Although it does a nice job of drying the clothes, this dryer has a lot of quirky features.

For one thing, you can't just put any size load in it that you want. When the installers were leaving, they instructed me to put an old rag in the drum and let the dryer dry for an hour, but the dryer kept shutting off. The installer warned me about this and told me I might want to wet the rag thoroughly and add a few more towels to the load. As far as I can tell, you can't just set the dryer for a specific time and expect it to run that long. It requires the perfect-sized load. The manual states that if the load is too small or the load is too large, it will shut off. Well how inconvenient is that! There are times that I just want to dry one thing and not a whole load. Having to take extra time to construct each load so-so to be sure the dryer will take it is a real pain. I've foun

After 2 years, this completly conked out and under warrenty the tradesman could not fix it after 3 long attemptsand waiting for parts for a 2 months. It is unfixable. Lose my warrenty will have to settle for depreciation of dryer and will have tp put more money and time into a new one. This is a lemon, total junk it falls apart after Amanas warrenty expires, cannot be fixed and the value that the warrenty people will, give is less than what a new dryer cost plus the 300.00 in warrenty costs are lost and the hassle of going through this, now I have to go through there process of claims and knowing I have to eat dirt on all the losses andbeing patient and buying a warrenty , I am the consumer that loses with Home depots warrenty and Amana does not back up product and now waiting to get my meger refund or try to waste more time on adryer. I am a disgusted consumer that has been given the runaround and noone stood behind me through this ordeal, the warrenty is set up to protect the company

Bought this waher and dryer set at 10% off. Works well and is very quiet. Sensor dry doesn't quite get everything all of the way dry every time (thus the 4 star rating) but works well enough. These units appear to be about the best bang for the buck in consideration to the options and features. Plus, Amana is owned by Maytag, which is owned by Whirlpool. All good things. One warning, if you need these items on any kind of a schedule, don't get them Depot Direct. It was a joke. Ordered mine on a Tuesday, was promised delivery that Friday. Didn't get them until the next Friday. It's a good theory, but Home Depot has no control over the suppliers. Sears had a similar model in stock for a few dollars more but Depot Direct meant free delivery with mail in rebate. So, I went for the easy way. Since my old washer had quit a week before, the Easter weekend was coming and I was looking at another week without a washer, I was a bit frustrated. The local Home Depot store here was the saving grace

Got this dryer and they came to install it on Wednesday. First of all they didn't have stack kit that we ordered. Called home depot and they stated they have to order kit and it would be 1-2 weeks before it would come in. We then went to store and spoke with manager and they found stack kit in stock room. Came home and stacked them--went to use dryer and it did not work. Called home depot and all they could do was to have a repair man come out. Repair man came out today and stated that the motor is burned up. It came from the factory like this. Went to home depot and spoke with saleman==he offered to see if the display dryer worked. Saleman called me 30 minutes later and stated that the dryer came on and then quit and would not work again. They can order me a new dryer and it will be here in 1-2 weeks. So now I am still without a dryer. Home Depot has been very helpful. I can see one dryer not working but two--this company needs to check it's stock better. I give it a one star until I

So far, this dryer has been great. H.D. installation was excellent--they even tried to help me with the new vent tubing which took up more space than expected behind my unit. I like the variety of cycles, and because the washer spins things so dry already, things seem to dry pretty quickly. My only problem was with a large comforter which didn't dry well, but it was probably too large anyway and needed to air dry. It is also very quiet and I have had no other problems. I'm very pleased so far.... Read more
