Non-Permanent?

It was hard to decide on an overall rating. I was really pleased with this stuff at first. I thought there was no way a mousse would be an effective hair dye. I was dyeing my hair black and when I saw this stuff next to the black I was getting, I decided black with red streaks in front would be much better. I've used a number of bright red hair dyes in the past, and colorwise, I must say that this was definitely the AWESOMEST red I ever achieved.

But.. hmm, I'm not sure how much of this would have to do with my hair having been previously lightened (say, three months or so prior?), or maybe because I did several applications of it, one every few weeks whenever I decided it wasn't bright enough anymore. Anyway, that 8-10 shampoos in which they say it washes out? That's just about where it starts to fade. Six or seven months after my first application, I got a haircut, including bangs, so most of what had been red was cut off, and the bit of red that's left was most likely dyed

I Love This Stuff!!! It works wonders for me! I really like it because I can afford it. It's like only [$]. My mom would not let me dye my hair all one color that would stay in till I was in the grave, so when my neighbor said she used it, i had to go looking. I started using this product last summer. (2006) I have learned that if you put enough in at once it will stay in longer then how ever long you really wanted it. the only problem I had was how messy it was, I got it EVERYWHERE!!! I learned that you must have someone else do it for you so it won't be messy, but if you don't care do it all your self. My other problem was that after a while, it started to dissapeer.[...] in the time that I could not find it I used Kool-Aid!!! It works, just not as well (DON'T EVER USE GREEN KOOL-AID!!!) Read more

Love the color!

I use chilled plum all the time, never on my entire head, but in streaks, or in the under layer of my hair, which looks great. I love the vibrant color, but it seems like it's more of a permanent color, than a temorary color, but it all depends where I put it. Underneith my hair it lasted for about a week, but on the top of my hair, it lasted months and months, and there was always a little tint left of it, until like half a year later. But other wise i recomend it, and it comes out great. It's also super easy to use, because its just moose, and you don't need to worry about mixing anything, or ammonia and peroxide. It even smells good! Over all it is a great product! Read more

Terrible

As a hair-dye veteran I've used a lot of products, some good, some bad...some (like this one), I'll never use again.

It gives great vibrant color to be demi-permanent. BUT! As a woman with a career I can't exactly go to work after a long vacation with my hair STILL blood red. The color doesn't fade nearly as fast as it claims, but amazingly it still manages to stain my bath towels, pillows, and shirts.

My advice, if you're looking for "Off the beaten path" non-permanent hair color thats super easy to apply, use Manic Panic. Its been around since the late 1970's for a reason!! Read more

I tried the copper blast but this was far too bright for me. I washed my hair several times, and by week 2 little evidence remained. Then I found cool blonde. I mix 3/4 cool blonde with 1/4 copper blast and it covers my gray, revitalizes my hair with shine, and lasts about 3 weeks before I feel like the gray is showing too much. My natural color with all the red highlights is my favorite color, so I do not want peroxide, ammonia or coloring that changes who I am. I just need a little help to keep the 'real' me. Thank you, L'Oreal! Read more
