I use this mechanical pencil every day, and it's an awesome writing instrument. The liquid graphite writes as smoothly and clearly as ink, and erases easily. This is definitely the future of mechanical pencils and, once you've used this pencil, you won't want to go back to using a traditional mechanical pencil. The one and only downfall with this product is that not enough erasers are provided in each package. This appears to be a common complainT amongh those reviewing thIS product, so I would hope that Pentech will add more erasers to their liquid graphite pencil packages. As this is a new product, it may only be purchased at certain merchants. However, I am certain that this product will soon be found in the writing instrument section of any store that has an office or school supply area. Read more

I am a religious professional, and use a pencil seven days a week for writing and calendaring. My life is fluid, and now my pencil is, too. I make my schedule once a week, then almost immediately have to begin to make time, day,and location adjustments. I erase frequently. I read in these reviews, and in other places, that difficulty finding erasers is a huge drawback. Not for me. Nor should it be for anyone else. I purchased a five-eraser tube of Pentel erasers at [...], and they fit like the originals. As a bonus, they are 10-15% longer. I have not had the issues some reviewers experienced. These pencils are an absolute delight. No more aggravating broken leads! Read more

I purchased these to substitute for regular wooden pencils in math class. The reviewer who noted that the pencil doesn't skip if you use light pressure was correct - but some of us naturally apply more pressure, and in such cases, the roller ball skips, which makes the writing look like the pencil is running out of ink.

One major issue I have with this pencil is that the graphite is not very dark. This is of primary importance to students who need to be able to rely on a #2 pencil for marking scantron-type answer sheets. Contrary to the packaging, this pencil is not equivalent to a #2 - even with heavy marking, a bubbled-in circle is still a shade lighter than a standard #2. Read more

I love the idea and sure enough once you get it to write (grainy start), this pencil writes as smooth as a pen without sharpening. I think the ink cartridge goes a little faster than it should. Very convenient design for a planner. My only big disappointment is that after the graphite dries well, the eraser is useless. I think this is something that will be fixed with enough complaints, but I wish it came with the warning about this. Immediate corrections erase no problem. Sometimes when erasing, the retractor activates, which is a minor inconvenience. Other than that, awesome device. Read more

I hate sharpening pencils - and love new ones so I got these. I tried using it during my Trig class. It skips a bit - but I can handle that. However - I couldn't get it to erase with the eraser that came with it or with an eraser I purchased. On the few times I got it to erase fairly decently it wouldn't write over the area erased. So it was just easier to mark it out and go on. However, in most math classes that isn't an option. Would be ok for English classes where you can mark out one word and be ok - but not for math where marking out throws the formula off. Read more
