This binding is really a Silvretta Pure. It tours surprisingly well and is light for this kind of AT binding; Only Dynafits are lighter. I use it for short backcountry ski tours with a focus on intermediate level turns in the North Cascades (wet snow).

My main gripe is that the slot on the bottom piece under the heel always gets packed with snow. The top piece of the binding compresses snow down into an ice cube which is difficult to scrape out. I've put ski wax, ArmorAll and MaxiGlide in the slot to keep snow from packing in but all to no avail. So, when touring I've spent more time scraping snow out of the slot than skiing. This is very frustrating and not practical. If you don't mind packed-in snow acting as a heel lift, it's not a problem. But on flats, it's not good. You also have to scrape out snow/ice out of the slot before locking down your boot's heels. If snow wasn't susceptible to packing down into the slot, this would be a decent binding. Perhaps on corn snow
