While it work as expected I was disappointed in a couple of things. 1st. The charcoal drawer does not fit properly and will not slide close flush, leaving a noticeable gap for air to enter. 2nd. The instructions leave much to be desired and apparently haven't been updated recently. They also instruct you to "knock out" the hole in your BBQ with a hammer. Don't even try. You'll only dent and deform your BBQ. I had to use a large Dremel and 4 - 1.5" cutoff wheels. Read more

The SFB is a great add on. The box is built well, and has a good finish. The downside to it though, is that it sits a little crooked on the grill. I have mine on a Chargriller Outlaw grill, and it works great, but sits a little sideways because the spacers are just a little too long. Mounting the box to the grill was little bit of a pain, lots of hammering and drilling, and four letter words. The drawback to the box, it has little bit of a gap that allows your smoke to escape, and makes temp control a pain. Once you get a handle on things it's not too bad though. A few little tweaks here and there, and some carefully placed JB Weld will get you squared away. Keep in mind that once you install this guy on grill, it's on it forever. The installation requires you to bust out some knock outs on the side of the grill, leaving you with a permanent gaping hole in the side of the grill. the side box is being used as a small bbq for a small party but when its a big party they are both fired up. The best thing is the side box has and extention to put charcol. The worst thing is i dont know why i didnt get it sooner. Read more

The side-fire box is definitely worth the money. It functions wonderfully for cooking with indirect heat. We made perfect ribs the first time we used it. The one big con of this was the difficulty of adding it to the grill. It takes a lot of pounding to open the hole in the grill, and we actually broke one of the screw holes in the process. Read more

I have this on my Duo-Griller. I build my fire in it, sear my meat on it's grill, then transfer the meat to the main grill to finish cooking & smoking it. The charcoal grate in it looks flimsy, but after using it about 6 times it's still in good shape. The drawer makes it easy to clean out ashes. Love it. Read more
