I had a horrible outbreak of poison ivy that just kept getting worse. A friend recommended this. When I balked at the price, I was told just get it, it works. Boy, was I glad I did. It immediately took away the pain and itching. When I began to get uncomfortable again, I went back for round two and that just about took care of what was a really bad series of rashes. Get it, keep it around, tell your friends! Read more

My husband breaks out if you just mention poison ivy. I read about this online and decided to give it a try. You do need to use it as soon as you can after exposure (which isn't always possible). Now he uses it after the first sign of an itch and it has always stopped the breakout in its tracks. Read more

I agree that Zanfel works, and I agree that the right amount has to be applied. I also agree that it is for early detection; otherwise, you are in for quite a ride! For my worst case (which was undetected as poison oak for 3 days after the first rash appeared), the turnaround came at the peak of suffering when I was introduced to essential oils for poison oak. In ONE application, they did what the Zanfel could not - the blisters dried up; hence, no more weeping, and new skin started to surface under the flaking dry skin that were the blister. This is OVERNIGHT. I still use Zanfel at the first sign of a rash or if I know I've been in contact (it's great for that), but for those who are more far gone and don't want to take hormones or drugs - go natural and try essential oils. Find an aromatherapist who knows his/her stuff. It feels good on the skin, and you'll smell lovely! Read more

This product is a very good supplement to my treatment for a recent serious outbreak of poison ivy. I am on some strong prescription meds that are countering the rashes. Since the antigen is in my blood stream I have had secondary outbreaks on other parts of my body. The Zanfel has been effective in helping me to be comfortable at these secondary outbreak sites. As the antigen rises up to the skin I can clear it with the Zanfel. I do have to repeat the treatment as more antigen arrives in my skin from my blood. My only concern is that the makers of this treatment have overpriced it and are getting away with that because there is no alternative antigen removing treatment that I am aware of. At least I am able to sleep. A little Badger Healing Balm on the affected area following Zanfel treatment finishes up the job of getting me comfortable. Read more

As expensive as it is, I was expecting my poison oak rash to show some improvement after use, which it didn't. I went to the doctor after suffering with my rash for 4 days. I received the usual shot and was told by my doctor to try Zanfel. I had severely weeping blisters and was hoping for quicker relief. I followed the instructions and the scrub felt good (why I gave it two stars instead of one). But the blisters continued to weep, and the rash remained red and itchy for days. It's been over 2 weeks and though the blisters have finally dried up and healed I still wake up in the night with itching. Maybe for lighter cases or those which are treated early, it might help, otherwise stick with calamine lotion, which is cheaper and works better. Read more
