I have obsessively listened to hi fi components of innumerable brands and models. Nothing (except one particular B & O rather pricey and stylish Speaker) has come close to shaking the certainty that I have had since the mid 1980s when upon college graduation my roommate bought a pair. I had searched lucklessly for 20 yrs, looking for something comparable. Either the Celestions were not being made, or they were only available used, or the prices were too prohibitive. But in this quest, I learned some important insights in my pursuit of perfection. 1.Celestion has been the driver of choice for all the heavy hitters since the days they first graced the famous Marshall stacks. 2. A Loudspeaker is just another instrument. The object is not pure sound reproduction. The object is to reproduce the musica accurately and with tonal color of it's own that adds but never detracts from the artist's intent.
