"This is a precision grinder. Powerful and effient. Runs quietly without coffee beans, but there is some unavoidable noise when grinding coffee beans. My wife and I use it daily. Do not store coffee beans in the hopper as shown on the box. Air is the enemy of coffee freshness. I store unused coffee in the freezer, in a tightly sealed bag, closed to minimize the air space around the coffee. I grind only what I need for the current brew. You can measure the beans directly. Fortunately the volume of the beans aprox equals the volume of ground coffee. We prepare Drip and Espresso. This grinder does it all."
