"It's thick, so it retains the heat well---this is important for making good pizza. And of course, it's the right diameter for use in the large Big Green Egg, while still allowing adequate heat flow around it to avoid melting the gasket. And the stone is made of the same ceramic material as the Egg itself, so it can withstand high temperatures."
