"Since purchasing the Bose 301s, I've had the chance to play everything in my music library through them. My conclusion is that they are not for every one. If you listen to heavy metal or hard rock forget about them. If you listen to classical, acoustic, jazz or bluegrass you'll love these speakers! The direct/reflecting system works if they are set up correctly. I often use this speaker for karaoke as well"
