"I am 98% satisfied with the unit despite the fact that used with a single PS/2 mouse, single PS2 keyboard, and single two channel audio output two-computer KVM switch, (1) it is only capable of true two channel sound; (2) the auxilliary two audio channel input lies at the front of the wired remote volume control rather than at the back where the remote wire enters, so I had to turn the control sideways to keep both wires out of the way; and (3) the usb connection has to be maintained with one of the running computers to keep the unit from spontaneously muting whenever there is no stereo analog audio input signal actually present; and (4) regardless of how the unit is connected, it is not capable of true four channel sound. Obviously the unit would work as designed with a single USB mouse, single USB keyboard, and single USB Companion 5 connected to a three USB port equipped two-computer KVM switch. My 98% overall rating is based on token decrements for these minor quirks which I should have researched and been aware of before I purchased the unit. But in conclusion, the Bose Companion 5 with its two channel analog sound has strictly superior sound quality that simply could not be duplicated by any true four channel analog or digital sound system that I could possibly afford."
