Craftsman Professional 10 in. Table Saw Review
Great Cabinet Features!
"The Craftsman 22124 saw has many useful features I wanted: regular 110 volt operation, fully enclosed cabinet for effective sawdust removal, out feed table, quick release guard-splitter assembly, miter gauge clamp-crosscut fence, large cabinet door, wide 18" rip left of blade, Leitz 40T blade, weight close to the 3hp cabinet saws, excellent T-square Fence system, small cabinet footprint, and HD-Cabinet Mounted Trunnions. The industry calls it a "Hybrid"...a cross between the very common light duty contractor saws vs the heft, power and stability of the full size cabinet saws. Make no mistake, this saw is Much closer to it's big brothers than to contractor saws. It shares all the positives of the big cabinet saws without their higher prices or 220v power needs!
It was well packaged, wrapped in a shroud of 1" tubular steel. I used a whole day in assembling the saw, enjoying the process and ensuring that it all went together right. The table was perfectly square to the blade and the fence was a breeze to square to the miter slots. The cast side tables mated well to the main table with the main table flatness near perfect and the C.I. wings at a respected .003. The fence is Rock Solid, yet glides Very Smoothly with little effort when making cutting adjustments! Arbor flange run out was less than.001" and the saws 425# weight adds to its stability and quietness. In operation, there is virtually no vibrationthe saw easily passes the start-stop nickel test. I find it runs real smooth and has plenty of power ripping 3\4 sheet goods and 8\4 oak. In all, the saw works very well and looks great in my workshop. I really like it!
With the features-quality-value it offers, I feel the 22124 rivals the big cabinet saws in the most important areas of performance and was my best choice of all the hybrid table saws. It should serve me well for many years to come!"
