"I am using the Webcam with Windows XP and Skype. I bought the Dynex which is BestBuy's store brand because I have been impressed with Dynex's quality with other products that I have purchased. The Dynex Webcam has better specs (frame rate, resolution, face recognition, auto exposure) than most of the other cams selling at twice the price.

The webcam was easy to setup and integrated well with Skype. However, the image was very choppy both in Skype and when using Dynex's software. Using the Dynex software, I was able to display the Frame Rate which was running at about 10 frames per second (FPS) which is much less than the 30 FPS the camera is capable of. In order to get rid of the choppiness, I had to turn off the face recognition and the auto exposure and drop the resolution to 800 X 600.

I purchased the Dynex because of the price and the features but wasn't able to use the advanced features because of the choppy image trade-off. However, it is still a good webcam for the price and I might have had the same issues with a more expensive webcam."
