"The idea to combine a GPS and a Fish finder sounded great and it is, except the transducer line to the transom was way short so can't use the sonar! keep in mind my boat is only a 25 footer so helm to stern is around 15 ft total and the wire is short?? Come on! This counts as a defect."

"Sorry to have to play devils advocate, but i also have a 25 ft boat, walk around w/ a cuddy, and i snaked the transducer cable along the side of the boat through access holes and got it just fine to my counsol. In fact, i have about two feet to spare. Not going to say you're doing it wrong our there's another/a better way you could be doing it, but i'd take a look again and see if there's another option. Furthermore, they do sell extention cables, i think they're 25 foot extensions for roughly 20 bucks. Hope the best and hope you get it working, i feel it's definately worth it!"
