Electrolux 30 in. Freestanding Gas Range Review
It's perfect!
"I love this range. My kitchen has white appliances (I'm one of those rare ones who doesn't like SS) and this is by far the best looking white range out there. I'd go so far to say the best looking freestanding range, period. It's sleek and clean. The continuous cast iron grates sit a little above but not too high like some of the others. The grates are simple in design making the whole surface easy on the eye. The control knobs have a subatantial feel. The IQ touch panel is intuitive. I didn't want to pay extra for the Wave Touch and the IQ is just fine. The only thing that is illuminated when not using the range is the clock. The icons and labels on the panel are small and discreet - which means I had to put on my glasses the first few times until I understood where everything was. The control on the "range" of the flame for the cooking elements is great - the power boost burner is fast. And the simmer burner really does do a bare simmer. I've read "complaints" about the weight of the range. But that likely explains the real solid new car door slamming feel of the oven door. I like being able to set the oven door in any position and having it stay put. I bought some of those little teflon glides that the installers slipped under each leg. This allows me to move it alone if necessary. The oven has done a beautiful job with a roast chicken and with simmering a pot of chili for several hours. I don't bake much so won't have any comments on that any time soon.
I removed two of the oven grates and keep them in the closet until I need them. Less to clean! The instructions do say not to leave the grates in the oven while self-cleaning. That's about the only CON I can think of. The remaining grate is on a glide mechanism that pulls out with a finger. Nice to use but I suspect it may be not so nice when the time comes to clean it. The whole mechanism pops out of the oven but it has nooks and crannies that will need hand cleaning. The cobalt blue interior is just so darn pretty.
The range is beautiful and so far has performed very well. Well worth the money."
