This addition to the outdated concept of Guitar Hero is awesome. I am a drummer/guitarist and though this game doesn't actually teach you how to play guitar, I think that the drumming portion would be a great practice for any aspiring drummer. It helps with basic beats and even moves to some more intermediate timings and movements.

The only downside that I have found to this specific machine is that after a few months of playing on it, the response becomes a little laggy. It becomes necessary to hit the pads hard, rather than lightly in order to successfully gain a hit. This isn't a big deal exempting the parts of the game where precision and speed become essential.

Another thing is that, don't know if this is specific only to my drum set or to all of them, but my bass drum pedal sticks a little, it's not that accurate either. I can hit right on the mark and sometimes, it doesn't register. I imagine that is why the new one for RB2 is designed differently.

Overall, I would say this this is a good buy, especially now that the price has dropped, but it might be a good idea to check out the newly designed set first."
