"After a couple of weeks of use, this shredder works great as long as you oil it every time you empty the bin.
Because it's a confetti shredder, I would highly recommend getting bags to put in the bin. Particularly if you are going to shred credit cards or CDs/DVDs as they really make a mess. Bags just make emptying the bin a whole lot easier and cleaner process. I was also told by our recycling company to use separate bags for credit cards, CDs and DVDs from paper so that they can separate things easier.
We replaced a strip shredder with this unit and I feel much more secure now that I have a confetti shredder. This shredder is fine for anyone that wants to securely destroy documents, credit cards, CDs and DVDs. However, the confetti is not sized to meet government security shredding standards, so if you need to meet those standards, this shredder is not for you."
