"This is a very good unit and it works quickly and efficiently to cool a room. I have two of these units, an 8000 btu for my bedroom (a 6000 Btu would have been sufficient but it was a gift) and a 12,000 BTU in my living room which I purchased. I don't think you could beat the quality for the price. The only thing left that remains to be seen is how long the unit will last. Both of these replaced units that worked well for over 10 years and as I only bought them this summer their shelf life is unknown. The MAJOR issue for me is how loud this unit is. I would NOT have gotten this unit for a bedroom if I had known how loud it was. I am honestly afraid to sleep with my door closed now because I cannot hear ANYTHING outside of my bedroom door when this unit is on. The living room unit does not pose this particular problem though it is just as loud. You can reduce the fan speed on this unit which cuts back on the noise but I'm not sure how this will effect performance long term. Overall a good unit."
