"I did a lot of research on this bad boy before purchasing it.As there are a lot of these Core I7's on the market now. Many of them are over priced(IMHO) And choosing the right combination of value and power can be frustrating and confusing.

Buy this machine. You will not be disappointed. Nor will you spend time agonizing on whether you should have spent more money on more features. The upgrade path is simple and affordable and best of all, if you can change a tire, you can do it all yourself.

This will however, for the serious gamer need a couple of upgrades:

1. PSU: 500w for heavy power gaming is not sufficient. Heat, crashing etc, are all likely and you'll reduce the life of your machine. Get a 650w minimum replacement power supply unit.

It's not a difficult install, just take your time and tag all your connections if you are new at it so you don't have any issues.

2. RAM Again 3gb for yesterdays gamer was excellent. For today's gamer not so much. And for tomorrow... Well lets stick with the here and now. Get another 3GB 3X1 DDR3 GB to drop right into the three empty slots you have .

Ahhhh, That feels better alredy doesn't it? Nothing like the pleasant snick, click sound of those sticks popping into place.

You now have 6GB of RAM You are ready to experience some serious FPS and crisp refreshes.

3.GPU: Enable the crossfire potential with a 2nd HD4850 Video card.

They are vey easy to install. Just be sure you are getting a normal sized card and not some insane looking sideshow freak that wants more than the single slot of PCI-E provided and you will be fine. Most of these cards come with the necesarry Crossfire connectors and the install is a snap. Read up on your GPU install and how to enable Crossfire first to save any hassels.

Now, pop in your favorite game and prepare to be impressed.

All in all, Gateway has delivered what no other PC manufacurer has been willing or able to do yet to date:

A durable, upgradeble gaming powerhouse that has great value and promises to deliver now and in the future.

Hats off to Gateway! Not for just delivering the Core I7 at a price Joe & Jane Gamer can afford, but one with great upgrade potential for the future.
