GE Washer/Dryer Stack Bracket Kit - GEFLSTACK Review
"I bought the GE Stacking Kit, to put a 3 year old GE dryer, onto a 12 year old Frigidaire Washer. The Frigidaire stacking kit was useless, as Frigidaire makes them for their new washers, that are curved in front. But even if I had a GE washer, I am not sure this kit would work correctly. The kit comes with two folded, white brackets to screw into the back of the washer and dryer, and four hard (but flexible) rubber pads - that stick to the bottom of the dryer, and rest on top of the washer (with its metal top still on - no need to remove the top of the washer). But the pads are not tall enough to accommodate the height of the bracket as well as the head of the screws that go into it!!! Big Flaw! Also, the instructions tell you to screw the brackets into holes, already in the dryer. Well there were NO such screw holes in my dryer, let alone the washer. In the end, I had to buy make-shift rubber pads (designed for supporting the legs of heavy furniture), cut them in half, and apply them with epoxy, to the bottom of the dryer. I then had to tap custom screw holes into the brackets, as well as my dryer and washer. The whole process took about three days - rather than what should be a one hour or less project. It took this long, because I had to apply the rubber feet two at a time with the epoxy, and wanted to wait 24 hours for the epoxy to cure completely, before flipping the dryer over, to apply the other two rubber feet, and then wait for them to dry. As far as the brackets are concerned, after seeing what they proved in the kit, I could probably have even fabricated the brackets myself, and in that situation, would not even have needed the kit. But for some people, this might be difficult. There is ONE thing I should mention. Because the brackets are white, I COULD have elected to mount the white brackets on the SIDES of the washer and dryer. Because they are white, they would not have been THAT visable, although, they would none-the-less, have been visable. In THAT situation, the black pads that came with the kit, WOULD HAVE been tall enough. But then, I would have had visable brackets on the sides of my washer and dryer - not what I wanted, and certainly not how the kit was designed to be used. Furthermore, if I ever wanted to unstack my washer and dryer, I would have had VERY UNSIGHTLY holes in the sides of my washer and dryer! In all, I found the kit helpful in showing me what I needed to make my OWN, HOMEMADE, Stacking kit, and little more. Not a bad investment I suppose for [$]."

"Steve, I have to buy a GE washer to stack below my Frigidaire dryer. Can you provide me with more detailed instructions/guide to accomplish the task?"
