Hannspree 27.5" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HD Monitor Review

Amazing display

"As an avid San Diego Padres fan who lives in Riverside County, I watch all of my baseball games over the Internet through MLB.TV. Previously, I had been watching the games on a 32" Westinghouse LCD TV that was connected via VGA cable to an older HP laptop. Because I wasn't able to use a connectionb etter than a VGA cable, I was forced to watch the lowest feed (400k) on about a quarter of the screen. Needless to say, the detail was awful and it was a struggle to watch the game from more than 6 feet away.



I had been searching for a solution to my problem for some time and when Best Buy put the Hannspree on sale, I jumped all over it. Due to the inlcuded DVI/HDMI cable, I was able to connect the Hannspree to my newer Dell XPS PC. I could not be any more blown away by the video quality. I now watch MLB.TV on the highest feed (1.2 MB) at full screen. My wife and I are blown away by the fact that we can clearly read the speed of the pitch from across the room, some 12 to 15 feet away. The DVI/HDMI cable and 3ms response time really facilitate high-demand Internet streams and the game displays extremely smooth with minimal choppiness. The improvement has actually gotten me watching Padres games again (despite their atrocious season).



Bottom line: If you watch Internet streams on a regular basis and you want a monitor capable of handling these feeds and displaying them at a beautiful screen size, I completely endorse this monitor. It also doubles as a great 28" digital photo frame when you run your screen saver, making it an excellent centerpiece in any living room."
