"I recieved one of these for X-Mas. I'm usually into the techy stuff as I'm an Engineer who supports Windows Mobile and CE PDA's, but never really wanted a GPS device. Well, I got one now, and I love it. I never heard of this brand name before as many others I would assume. The first thing I did was upgrade the software as I do this for many electronic devices. I would recommend the same. It's real simple, but takes a bit of time to download (depends on your internet speed).
Once upgraded, I powered it up and the display was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's top-of-the-line. I went through some of the menus by touching the screen and it was really simple to navigate through.
I noticed that it would play MP3 and MP4's and had a video line in. Tons of gadets that I will probably not use, but I added some MP3's to the SD card (SDMMC Disk) and it play just fine on the GPS device. Neat, but I will probably never add any more.
Next I mounted it to the windshield of my Toytoa Sienna....wow...looks sharp. I decided to go for a test drive. I live in a new neighborhood, so the street I was on, didn't show up. It doesn't show up in mapquest either, so no worries. I picked a destination and off I went.
Once I got to a known street, it was pretty cool. Then I hit the highway. The GPS started saying I was going over the speed limit (I had turned this on to keep my wife from speeding :)...) however, I was actually 10MPH under the speed limit at the time. So, while this feature is neat, it's not very accurate.
It was also real dark outside, and the GPS adjusted it's screen for night driving....really cool...(have to turn this option on in the settings).
If I cancel my destination, it just shows where I'm at and I can just watch the map all day as I make a turn I can see the screen change.
The one feature I really liked was the Bluetooth. If you have a Bluetooth phone, this option is a must have for hands-free driving. I paired my Razr to the GPS unit in seconds. I was making calls to home right after. The sound quality is not the best, but it works.
So, overall I think this unit is well made, fun, and easy to use. I would recommend to others.
