"I can't say whether or not it is durable, but it was easy to install and I did like the features. I had installed one previously in my old home and it is still going since I rented it out 2yrs ago. I like the price and Sears gave me 10% off even though I missed the dead line for the sale. I had also purchased the Kit with the Flex hoses. I did not notice a pressure drop and if there was one it was insignificant. Only other things I needed to buy were the 1" to 3/4" copper fittings and of course the salt pellets. Soldering was not difficult and quicker using the methane (yellow bottle). I think it took me longer to unpack the darn thing than it did to install. (not kidding) All in all I was happy with it considering the price. If you do experience a pressure drop you may try using a 1" flex hose, but very hard to find. I called Ferguson plumbing supply and some of their stores carry them but not worth the wait for me. Good luck"
