LG 25.0 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator Review
Went from a 19 year old ...
"Went from a 19 year old Kenmore side by side which has given us no problems but I figured it was time. Both are 25cft but we seem to have so much more room in the refrigerator and freezer section. Well lit and easy to find things. It is very quiet.
The doors and freezer drawer work smoothly. The installer pointed out that when loaded, the doors may not line up at the top. There are some suppled shims that you can insert at the bottom hinge to realign them. This is cosmetic but it may bother some people.
I personally like that the drawers have bottom tracks instead of hanging from the top. Just seems sturdier to me and smoother to operate.
Shelves are easy to adjust and sturdy. We don't any at the same height so for us there is no one big shelf that goes all the way across but if you do this, both sides pull out together.
We decided we did not need the ice and water through the door and do not miss it. I think you get more usable refrigerator space without it and the icemaker in the freezer drawer is in a space you would not use anyhow. Larger families might want the option if you use a lot of ice.
The coils are underneath in the back so you will have to pull the unit out and remove a grill to clean them. On my old one you just popped off a plastic grill in the from and vacuumed the coils.
Sears did the delivery and set up and it was top quality just like when I bought the one I replaced. It is nice to know some things have not changed."
