"I didn't get the product that was promised. I purchased the Crossover and in itself it is a nice unit. The main reason I purchased this model was that I could use it hiking with the detailed topo maps and on the road. When I purchased the unit I also bought the MapSend Topo3D software as suggested salesman. Not only did the MapSend not work with the crossover neither the crossover or mapsend work with Microsoft Vista making my purchase a costly mistake. Then, after combing through documentation, I find that upgraded Topos are only usable via SDcard and to top it all off the only Topos available are for Canada and Mexico. If I'm lost in Canada or Mexico I'm really screwed since I plan on getting lost in Florida and Arizona. I think that the crossover is a great product even with the 2min + satellite acquisition time. I can return the GPS unit but the software is wasted of money. It's outmoded software and I made a mistake purchasing it. The only way for me to use these products now is to use two computers, my standard Vista machine and an old XP machine specifically to run the Magellan stuff. This is a lot to travel with. I’m traveling to AZ in November and planned to use the Crossover while hiking in the desert. I wanted to use the hi-res topo maps promised. Now I have to go backwards and use a laptop and mouse gps to use the detailed topos promised with the crossover. Because of this I wouldn't suggest this product to anyone, these products seem out of date and I am very disappointed. Tech Support was pretty good but trying to upgrade the units firmware was difficult. It wasn’t as simple as putting the firmware version into the webform to access the download, I had to talk to tech support and he told me which version to put in the form to get it to work. That’s just a shoddy website and not a product comment. Upgrading the firmware is definitely worth it, it didn’t fix any issues I have but it really made the unit itself a pleasure to use. To recap, my main problem is with Vista compatibility and the lack of Topos of the US. If these things don’t matter to you it’s a great device."

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
