"Two and a half years ago, I was severely fatigued, unable to maintain even normal activities because of anemia, brought on by the effects of kidney cancer, bladder cancer, end stage renal disease and the numerous related treatments. I lost my right kidney to cancer in 1999, endured eight subsequent operations to remove bladder cancer and, on July 4, 2006, began dialysis treatments three times a week.
I am self employed, and the loss of three entire mornings a week to dialysis severely affected my work schedule. I had tried working while in treatment, but it was awkward and almost impossible due to the physical constraints of the treatment process.
Then I happened to see a picture of your Laptop Desk online. I compared it with several different manufacturers’ models and decided to consider your product. I showed the staff at the dialysis clinic the picture before ordering it. I needed their permission to store the desk at the clinic so I would not have to haul it back and forth every trip. They too felt it was small enough that storing it would not be a problem, so I proceeded to order it online.
I can not begin to tell you how wonderful this desk has been. In a reclined position with one arm totally immobilized, I am able to put in many extra hours of productive work each day of treatment. The desk could not be more convenient. It stores easily in a corner of the treatment room reserved for empty wheelchairs, and fits snuggly into my treatment station in front of my treatment chair. The many height adjustments are perfect for when I am in a reclined position and those times I am in a sitting position. The surface area seems to have been specifically designed for my laptop, mouse and work documents. The lightweight design makes it very easy to reposition with only the use of one arm. It is sturdy enough that I don’t have to worry about it getting knocked over by a technician who makes frequent visits during the treatment process. The desk is well constructed, and I would anticipate it will last me for many years.
Before end stage renal disease and subsequently the dialysis treatments, I was a healthy, energetic, active and productive person. Giving up approximately 18 hours of productive time each week was not in my nature. But the addition of your Laptop Desk certainly helped me to restore those hours to my productive schedule. I would strongly suggest you market this product to dialysis clinics and patients (and possibly chemotherapy patients as well). It is ideal for laptop computing, reading and writing for those of us confined to treatment settings."
