"This refrigerator is great looking and very functional for our life style but I would have rated it much higher if it didn't choke on us so quicly. The first six months were fine but our ice maker quick working at that time. We were told to change the water fliter and after a couple of days it worked but the ice maker is not the best we have seen. Well exactly one month after one year of use the electronic display started flashing and the ice control flapper drove us crazy opening and closing continuously. We too got the run around when we called the Sears warranty department (GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY). We where told it would be a week before the next available appointment and we had to empty our entire fridge so we could turn the breaker off because the noise and flashing lights drove us crazy. We put all our goods in coolers for a week. The repair mans arrived and told my wife that this is typical and we should have been contacted by a technician to tell us how to disconect the computer and order the part and have one there waiting for him to install. No one called us. Oh yea, the repair man said he would order the part and 2 days later we called to make an appointment while the part is on order and found out an appointment had already been made for us but no one called us. Godd luck people stick with a Kenmore we have always had better luck but ofcourse this one was so great looking and by the way that Mytag reputation? Forget about it with this lemon."
