"This mattress topper arrived promptly and decompressed quickly. There was a chemical odor that lingered a bit longer than expected (about a week) but wasn't too strong and eventually dissipated. The foam itself is a pale yellow color, not the white shown in the photo. It also turned a darker yellow on the side we were sleeping on within a month. The change seemed to be mostly cosmetic and didn't seem to affect the feel of the foam. It was softer than I expected, and not as dense as other memory foam toppers I've tried, but it is still really comfortable. We used to wake up with backaches in the morning occasionally but that hasn't happened ever since we got this topper. Do note that memory foam retains heat much better than a traditional mattress which means its gets quite toasty in the middle of the night; this is fine for winter but it gets too hot in the summer sometimes. The contour pillows that came with the mattress topper were too soft for me, but my husband likes it. For the price, it's a decent value and if you like a softer topper, this one is very comfortable."
