"I have a long commute (100 miles), so I plug this into my car's cassette player using a "CD Player Cassette Adapter" so I have tunes between radio stations and in dead spots.

For that purpose, it's very good. Turn it on, it starts playing right where it left off when you turned it off.

I really like the "timeout" on turn-off, so that inadvertent button presses don't accidentally turn it off!

The screen is a bit small for my old eyes, so setup of the different modes is a bit of a pain. Luckily, it's mostly set and forget.

This is NOT an IPOD - it's an MP3 Player! Why anyone would pay hundreds of dollars for the opportunity to give Apple MORE of their money is beyond me...."

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
