"I have yet to find the perfect mechanical. I've tried many different types and brands. I keep coming back to the Pental Twist-Erase. I like how long the eraser rubber is; on some brands the eraser is just too small. I don’t want to deal with a separate cap. The grip is comfy. It’s easy to extend more lead by squeezing your thumb against the barrel and compressing it. You don't have to reposition your grip to extend the lead. Reliability is average. They don't last for ever. They are sensitive if you drop them on the tip, if you do they never work right again. I keep a few of them on hand and when they stop working satisfactorily pick up a new one."
