"The Pioneer VSX 1019 has similar functions to the Pioneer Elite VSX 01txh but at a reduced cost!!!…Sound quality (deep and rich) remains outstanding!!!...for small to medium sized rooms. Use a quality speaker "of course" (Energy Take Classics are fantastic).However, to get the best sound from your system you need to READ the manual before making changes to the many sound and video options (note: it has ON-SCREEN display to your TV for various input changes…plan on spending minimum 2 hours to explore all functions). It also has an automatic set-up for surround sound called MCACC acoustic setup mic…will use when I get speaker location fixed. Once you set-up the 1019 to your liking you can perform basic functions via two knobs (input selector, volume) and two "pre-set" buttons on the receiver or use the remote.The receiver quality is strong and works well with a variety of input sources (i.e., CD, DVD, Blu Ray, and iPod and standard FM radio with the Parsec LS-4 Antenna…Sirrus radio is also an option if you subscribe). 4 HDMI inputs and 1 output handle all my needs. It also has provision for a zone 2 for speakers located in a different room. [...]"
