"So I am sure if you are reading the reviews before you buy you are like I was before I bought this treadmill. I decided to get a new one after my ProForm 380i started showing signs of wear after over 5 years of working great! I check out many models and many manufacturers and after reading many reviews I was very confused as to what to buy. I read on the web that Proforms are "budget" machines made more for "walking" and not jogging or running. Let me tell you experience:I am 6'2 230lbs and I love to run. I had a ProForm 380i which is a smaller treadmill and only has a 2.25 HP motor (not CHP) I average about 5 miles per run at around 6mph. The 380i is smaller and less powerful than the XP Trainer and that one did the job just fine!Onto the Proform XP TRainer.... Amazing! Many people complained that is was difficult to put together. I didn't find it very hard if you can follow the directions. It is a bit heavy however I managed to bring it in my house and install it alone but I had the help of a wheel dolly to get it inside. After setting it up and using it for a few days....wow. It is whisper quiet and doesn't shake/vibrate. Very solidly built and does what it is meant to do. Once again, I am 6'2 230lbs and I can run on this with no problem. The speakers were very clear and are a nice touch since most people use mp3 playes and this will work with ANY Mp3 player, not just Ipod's! The readout is clear and the heartrate monitor is O.K. but I wouldn't depend on it. Bottom Line: I paid 599.99 for this treadmill on 1/30/09 at Sears. This is a great buy for the money and I would recommend this treadmill to ANYONE."
