RYOBI 25.4 CC Gas Cultivator Review

You get what you pay for.

"Aside from the first 3 hours I used it, this product had fatal flaws for me, at least the exact one I bought. At about 4 hours of use on the second day I had it, the engine popped out, the shaft that went from the engine to the gear box snapped in half. This I believe was from the massive vibration to this machine, I'm thinking the lousy design flaws are known by Ryobi because of their desperate attempt to add a pocket in which to add balist of sand to. It's not my intention to smear Ryobi, but they need to recall and redesign this product. It shakes, It jumps and the cover to the air filter kept popping off, although once you get a pair of pliers to crank down the wing nut type screw on it, it happens less. It doesn't start up easily, takes maybe 5-8 pulls to get it working some times, unless it's all ready hot, similiar to other small gas powered engines but I'm pretty sure it's twice as annoying, I own/operate/run a lawn maintenance business. By the way I used this on my lawn, not my business. I used it 2 hours one day and 2 the next. My suggestion is to buy a cultivator with more power, thicker metals especially from the engine to the gear box, they sell some that don't involve the engine being right up on the gear box like the Ryobi is, which probably lead to making it hot enough down there to contribute to why the shaft broke in half. I must admit the one I bought was the last one on the shelf, which made me weary and the fact that it was 200 dollars made me even more weary since most others in this category go for upwards of 350 to 700 dollars."
