"Me and my wife use this just go get out on the water. We have only used it on calm waters so far, but plan to use it on flowing rivers and maybe mild rapids.



The canoe itself is built very well. The nylon covered sides are thick, giving you a secure feeling that the boat wont pop. This was my wifes biggest concern with an inflatable canoe. The bottom of the canoe has a rubber type coating which is very thick and will resist abrasions by rocks and whatever else you may encounter. The seats are extremely comfortable! You couldnt ask for more comfort. I was very surprised. We paddled for about 2 hours today and the only uncomfortable thing about it is the sun beating on you.



We use a coleman quickpump to inflate it. It has an internal lead acid battery, and easily inflates and deflates the boat. I would highly recommend an electric pump as the side chambers are very large and will take forever to pump with a foot/hand pump. Also, having the deflating option is great because you can actually fold the canoe flat and get it back into the bag when you are done.



The canoe comes with a small keel on the back which if you dont remember to put on first, you wont get it on without deflating again so dont forget. I dont really know how much the keel does for the tracking because I haven't tried without it. I was concerned with tracking at first from what other users have said elsewhere. I can say that with one person paddling, you will spin in circles. So if only one person is paddling, get a kayak paddle. If two people are paddling, tracking isn't an issue. You just have to pay attention to the other person's strokes to keep timed. This isn't much different with plastic canoes, so dont be concerned.



The portability is great! I remember when I was a kid having a 17 foot plastic coleman canoe, I could barely lift the canoe to load on top of the van for family excursions. This is not like that at all. It is about 40 lbs, so it isn't light for one person to carry all day, but you can walk from the car to the beach without being out of breath. When it is inflated, it is light to pick up with two people to launch.



Overall I cant really think of anything negative to say. It does what it was intended to do very well. The only thing I can think as a nock against the canoe is that the nylon sides hold water. Most of the side is rubberized that sees water anyway, so it isn't an issue. But if your paddle splashes the sides, it will take a while to dry. But it isn't really a big deal. Just bring a towel and towel it off so there isn't water kept inside the canoe when you put it back in its bag. I am very happy with this canoe, and I have recommended it to two different people today already who were interested when I was inflating/deflating it."
