"I have noticed a lot of people complaing that they had to send off for the larvae/food... if you have seen the commercial it clearly says about sending off for the larvae. Not only that use your common sense... how could the larvae survive in a box like that sitting on a shelf for weeks or months?? isnt that just common knowledge... how would they survive?? On to the product it is a very neat product yes it stinks having to wait for the larvae to come but have some patience. Watching them grow and turn into butterflies and then releasing them is such a cool experience."

"We have this unit also, and I agree with your common sense. Today, alot of people seem to need to have everything spelled out for them. I would imagine somebody would also like to buy this, and be able to stick it in the microwave oven, and "presto" here it is, a two week life cycle in just 30 seconds! Ha ha ha,...... Well, some are not blessed to live with nature and are not used to the "plant and harvest" idea; or just don't think before they write. Being serious though, it is a nice idea, and was a little tool to teach some ideas of caring for creatures (pet ownership) and teaches our kids about the cycle of life, the beauty of creation and the dissapointment of a cocoon that just didn't quite hatch (still-born) and death itself, as the butterflys died. My 10 yr old daughter decided, for the last one that was still alive yesterday, to let it go free in the back yard, while it could still fly. What a precious experience to see the emotion on her face and her joy to see it land on a flower and then fly away. We are now searching for the directions on how to identify the new larve that we hope are somewhere in the butterfly house. We had put some wild flowers in there and don't want to hurt them. I was hoping to find them on-line here somewhere. Very nice item.
