"I use my bike for commuting and fitness. Regarding commuting, the ride is just upright enough to feel comfortable in traffic, but still low enough for fast riding. Most hybrids I rode had a more comfort than performance feel, which I disliked. The 7.5 leans slightly the other way, still very comfortable, but not saggy.

Recently returned to cycling, I find this bike to be the perfect balance of road and comfort. I appreciate the tire width, which is not too thin like road racer beasts, but not fat and inefficient. This helps me feel stable when timing stoplights, starting at intersections, or encountering road hazards (sand, glass, rocks).

At the same time, the bike as plenty of room speed-wise to grow into as fitness improves. High gear is plenty fast, yet the nasty hills on my commute are manageable.

I struggled to convince myself to purchase the lower models (a 7.2 or 7.3) but in the end the 7.5 felt so much better, I went for it and never looked back. It was money well-spent.

Trek asks what's not so great: the front deraileur isn't creamy-smooth when cranking uphill, but that is being pretty picky. Hold it in a little, and time with pedal stroke, and the shift is smooth enough. On flats, there's no real issue.

In short, this bike is awesome. It allows me to work at my fitness level yet has plenty of room for me to grow from a fitness/commuting rider to an avid cyclist. In fact, it is so nice, my wife fell in love with it and got one herself!

I fully recommend this bike! It's definitely worth checking out."

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
