"Bought one for my son (9 now 10) last year. Was so impressed by the build quality and engineering, I bought the same type, only bigger for me! (The adult Trek 1000, now replaced by another model).

I can't fault this bike, other than the pedals, which we changed at relatively low cost for something easier to clip into. (I changed the pedals on my 1000 also.)

We love to ride out as a family - only problem is that my daughter on a Trek MT220 and my wife on an old, non-Trek, clunker mtn. bike cannot keep up with the "Lance wannabe boys"! A second KDR1000 and an FX7.2 therefore lie in our future.

Our children have taken part in several kids' triathlons over the last two years, both achieving podium finishes incluing a couple of wins, in all but one. The bikes (especially this one) helped hugely."

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
