"I got this bike and right away knew I was going to put bullhorns and TT brake on. (In fact, I bought them before I actually had the bike built up). I also put a NiteRider MiNewt beam on for commuting. It is a great ride. I got it because my wife owns a Trek 7300 and I was leaving her in the dust on our bike path rides on my CF Trek 5200. My only complaint is that getting the bike on and off the fork-mount bike rack is a pain in the neck. I don't want to have to carry around a 5/8" wrench. I'm wondering if it is possible to put a quick release skewer on the front (yes, I know- heresy!). I haven't tried commuting with it yet, but I'm looking at some really big, long climbs. I got rid of the chain guard because of an incessant "clank, clank" from the chain slapping it. It just made the bike sound cheap and was annoying as hell.
Other than those minor complaints, however, I love how it accelerates, and I put some simple Time ATAC pedals on it- it's an outstanding ride. I'd definitely recommend this bike to others, but do yourself a favor and get different bars, but it's a sweet ride. I'd love to hear from someone who knows bike hardware and could tell me about whether a quick-release skewer in the front is possible."

"You'd need a different (shorter) axle, and hollow."
