"I'm a pretty accomplished DIYer and decided to install a skylight between rafters in my home -- I got the FS 104 from Velux to do this (deck mounted) and chose to get this flashing kit. The kit was complete (even included nails) and more than sufficient to successfully flash the light. Instructions were very thorough, but they are pretty clearly intended for roofing pros, and took me (not a pro) quite a while of very careful study to determine what to do. Once I did that, and after consulting lots of other sources as to how to properly work with shingles (mine are asphalt) I ended up with a job that looks pretty good and seems to be keeping the water out (knock wood!). In short, this is a very professional product with very thorough instructions that a pro would be able to read quickly, but that require very careful study by even reasonably advanced DIYers. Lastly, while not mentioned in the instructions, I confess to having used a tube of polyurethane roofing caulk around all the edges after installing the flashing (especially on the uphill edge) as I figured this couldn't hurt."
