"The jacket is advertised as waterproof. I bought two of the jackets for my family. I loved the light wieght of the jacket. However, when my family wore them in an all day rain event, it did not take long to realize they were not waterproof but water resistant. Water soaked through, soaking both my wife and daughter. Would not recommend this jacket for use in the rain."

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
