"We bought a similar model (GU2451XTSQ2) about 16 months ago. Within a couple of months, it started making a rattling or grinding noise but I couldn't find any obvious cause for the problem. No other problems manifested until 2 months ago (shortly outside the warranty) when the machine sounded like it didn't want to start. It filled with water, but could only chug along past that. This required a few wash canc..." Read Full Review
"I ordered the same product again for another residence because I was pleased with the results. I would recommend it."

Cons:
"Seeing that you can't actually try dishwashers in the store before you buy them (can you imagine everyone doing that?), we first narrowed our choices down to the brand; Whirlpool consistently has a model that's a "Best Buy" in Consumer Reports, and it also has one of the lowest repair rates of any brand. We also considered Kenmore, but Whirlpool makes Kenmore you know...
We then looked at the available models in the Gold Series and compared features. One of the things I liked about this model was the built in food disposer and self cleaning filter; the higher priced Gold-series models didn't have those features. Since this was the mid-level model of the series, I realized it would be slightly noisier than the others and wouldn't be as highly rated from an Energy Star perspective (using a bit more electricity and water). But those were things that I could live with for not having to maintain the unit's disposal and filter.
So far we've had very positive experiences with this unit. We typically run it every other night, waiting until it's pretty full of dishes to clean them; the top rack allows us to fit up to 24 glasses, with a center row of up to 8 cereal bowls. The bottom rack is so open (without the utensil holder sitting in the middle of it) we can fit numerous plates and even some larger caserole dishes in it. And I LOVE the feature of the utensil holder sitting on the inside of the door - brilliant! That space saver made it a no-brainer to go with this mid-level Whirlpool over a more highly Consumer Reports rated Kenmore model.
Honestly, we haven't had to use the power scour feature and have been very pleased by how clean the dishes get using the adapt feature (which decides how dirty the dishes are based on the amount of food cycling through the food disposal unit and sets wash settings accordingly). I think a big part of that is how open the rack layouts are and the positioning of the water jets at the rear of the unit. We haven't used the jet dri solution since it ran out, and the dishes have been plenty dry if left through the entire heat drying cycle; plastic containers will still retain some water droplets in corners and crevices, though.
One of the best things I like about the dishwasher is how quiet it is. Ours is located in a small, tiled kitchen with an adjoining dining room, and the unit is so quiet you can carry on a conversation right next to it without raising your voice. We just installed an under-the-counter CD player / radio and don't even have to adjust the volume upwards to hear it. I was nervous that this Quiet Partner III wouldn't be so quiet (other units have Quiet Partner IV and V), but I was pleasantly surprised. Plus, it looks great and call me corny, but I personally love the bright blue lights that let you know what settings have been pushed on the dishwasher.
This replaced a 15 year-old General Electric model and was a huge upgrade, especially in terms of noise - we couldn't watch TV in our living room 20 feet away without boosting the volume. I'm glad the GE was dying and we took advantage of the deal at Sears and bought this unit. I couldn't be happier, especially being able to spend much less than the $700 I budgeted for what I thought would buy a decent dishwasher these days. I would definitely recommend considering this particular unit carefully, especially with the features you get that are upgrades from lower-level units and also are absent on higher-level units."
"I'm very happy with the way my dishes have been coming out. Our first load was filled with dishes sitting in my sink for the past 36 hours since my husband disconnected the old dishwasher. (Yes, I'm lazy and can't stand hand washing!) Anyway, the stuff was stuck on and the machine review said you didn't need to rinse anything before putting it in. So...I decided to test it. Stuck the entire sink load in (shocked it all fit-much more room than my old washer)...didn't pre-rinse anything. Every dish came out spotless! Even my baked on white corning ware came out completely clean! My old dishwasher would NEVER have been able to clean that! *And I only washed it on the NORMAL setting!!!
Looks really nice (stainless), pretty quiet (can carry on a conversation next to it, but you know it's on), got the job done! Let's hope it lasts!"
"Arrived and installed perfectly. A houseful of guests, including 7 grandchildren under age 8, put this dishwasher to the test, and it performed perfectly as well as almost constantly! We like the variety of large bowls and platters it holds. I don't like getting my reading glasses to use the controls. Altogether we liked our previous Whirlpool but this one is even better."

Cons:
"I've had the Whirlpool for 1 week (4 loads) and am amazed at how clean and spot-free the dishes are compared to my old washer (10 year old Jenn Air).
Using the Adaptive cycle, I can put completely dirty dishes in (caked on egg, oatmeal, etc) and they come out spotless. Truly remarkable when compared to my old washer.
The washer takes about twice as long, but the results are well worth it. It is very quiet and has a ton of space.
I would strongly recommend this washer to anyone who does 5-6 loads per week and doesn't have the patience to pre-soak or pre-wash glasses and dishes."
"This machine is amazing! First of all, I was able to install it myself in about 3.5 hours - and this was a new install, not a replacement. This also included two trips to the hardware store! Looks great! Matches my other two Kenmore appliances perfectly which are 5 years old. I am using the Finish tablets for the main wash and about a tablespoon of cascade liquid for the prewash. Normal cycle works, but takes over 2 hrs sometimes. Adaptive cycle works, but can take a little over 1.5 hrs. Both cycles dont use too much water, but must be adding heat (electricity) most of the wash cycle. The GLASS EXPRESS cycle works just as well in 30 MINUTES! I'm not kidding! I'm talking pots, pans, dishes, you name it! I've done this three times and the dishes are all clean. Just open the door and let the items air - dry. Very few water spots. Try it - it just might work for you."
"Great dishwasher. The capacity is huge since the silverware trays on in the door. Love the fact that it comes with automatic dispensing rinse aid. Have had for only 2 weeks, but am very happy with the overall look and results of using the dishwasher. The black, sleek design makes my kitchen look much more up to date."
Pros:
"This is a great dishwasher for the price. I live in an area with really hard/mineral filled water and it's not worth buying a really expensive dishwasher. I've had this a couple weeks, we run it 2-3 times a day and it has done a fine job cleaning. The silverwear tray is sort of small, but it is out of the way and allows the entire bottom tray to be loaded with dishes. I snuggle the large spatulas, etc on the top shelf with the dishes & glasses. I put my dishes in scraped, but not always rinsed. Buy the hose adapter if you are replacing an older dishwasher and installing yourself- all new dishwashers require this adapter."
Pros:
"We did a lot of research before buying this dishwasher but it was so new I couldn't find very many reviews on it. We wanted to replace our Kenmore that was starting to make some noises & never did clean very well.
I love this dishwasher! It cleans the dishes very well, I never have to rewash anything like I did the other one. It has a lot more room thanks to the silverware basket on the door. The top rack holds a lot. I would like a basket for small items, though.
If I had any complaints at all it would be that loading large items on the bottom can be difficult to arrange. You are supposed to put dirty pans facing the back towards the power scrubber but sometimes this just isn't possible. For instance the crockpot. I can only face it towrds the front.
The one item I am happy about is the removable grills for my George Forman grill. On the old dishwasher, I would have a problem with it hitting the sprayer when I pulled out the bottom rack. With this dishwasher, I face the grills towards the back & there is plenty of room."
