Good first shotgun.
"While there are many better "shotgun" mikes this is excellent for the price(others cost as much as ten times the price!). For "fishpole" mounting w/shock-mount, or handheld, this is a great choice for use with a consumer video camera. Or with audio recorder for question-pickup at News Conferences. Remember: it as important to position to reject unwanted sound as it is to aim for the desired audio!..." Read Full Review »

Good sensitivity
Narrow acceptance angle
Superb sound quality
Good off axis rejection with smooth LF roll-off.

"This microphone has given me the ability to run my lav system and this mic at the same, giving me two sources for interviews in my docu videos. On the Canon XH-A1, you can't use the onboard mic and a lav system. This mic allows me to have two sources of audio for an interview.
