"I moved from California to Florida and have noticed the quality of products and nail techs is DRASTICALLY different. I decided to do it myself and bought this product. Initially I was psyched . . . until the ish refused to dry. After an hour I Googled and found this site. A reviewer suggested adding another coat of gel. I was dubious but . . . . IT WORKED!!!! My nails are now fabulous. I will definitely buy this again."

    Pros:

  • Attractive,
  • Easy to apply,
  • Glue dries quickly,
  • Goes on smoothly

"I use this kit on my own nails only, no tips. It makes my own nails unbreakable. I love it. however, i had the problem of sticky and not drying. I had trouble getting the amounts correct. I put on 3 coats of gel onto my nail, then using the brush dipped in the activator, i slowly wipe it on the rim to remove activator from one side of the brush, then i stroke the nail (i just do one nail at a time) down the middle, then left and right. as they say, don't overstroke. even then there is a little stickyness, so i put one more coat of gel ONLY on the nail. that seems to be perfect, it is set and hard in 5 min. as it grows out, i just file or buff the bump where it ends and it will continue to give me unbreakable nails until it grows fully out (a long time) i bought this kit because i had salon gels done and as they grew out, i just clipped off the fake nail tip and let the gel stay there to strengthen my nails. this is a much cheaper substitute."

"The kit has everything needed but I have found that I wish the amount of gel and activator provided were larger. Seemed that I went through both very quickly and for the number of nailtips and solvent (cleaner) in the kit, the actual acrylic components just run out way too fast. The bottles of these two basic ingredients are quite small and I'm going to end up throwing out half of the kit and buy a new one altogether to keep up my nails. I am physically unable to go out and get my nails done professionally or I would. After about 4+ weeks of practice I've finally figured out the right amounts of each to use and how to get it to actually dry without waiting an hour each time (this requires using MORE GEL than you think and less activator). When I discover that the mixture just isn't drying, another quick coat of gel works like magic but BE CAREFUL! You can ruin your gel brush this way and we all know what a pain it is when a brush from a bottle hardens or falls apart. Overall, I like the product and will continue to use it until or unless I find something that works better :-)"

    Pros:

  • Gentle,
  • Reasonably priced,
  • Strengthens nails

    Cons:

  • Strong odor,
  • Takes some practice,
  • Takes too long to dry

"Thank you so much! I found your review as a result of my search "What to do when your Brush on Nails stay tacky"-- & just finished putting another coat of gel on, and my nails are already dry! I do agree that the amount of gel received is not enough to use all of the tips, and from my experience not enough to use all of the activator either-- I contacted Broadway to find out if it was available for purchase seperately, and it's not-- That's my only complaint, otherwise I love this product and will continue to use it! Thanks again for the tip about the gel- I was trying to resolve this issue backwards! :-)"

"I couldnt agree more! I also found this post because they took forever to dry. I added the extra coat of gel and FINALLY got the 5 minute dry time they promised. Thanks to you this IS a 5-star rating!"

"Thank you. You answered my question about what to do if they take too long to dry. I'm very pleased with the results. I dread the time spent going to a salon and I think these look better, not with the big bump that you sometimes end up with that looks so phony."

"take your time!! these work great when you do. the key is to put on the nails, file them down a little-not the lenghth, the nail itself...then apply gel and activator, and then file again when they are dry. repeat again. ive had mine on for over 2 weeks now, and a nail tech couldnt tell the difference! 10 bucks here, or 35 in the salon every week.....ill take these!"

    Pros:

  • Dries quickly,
  • Easy to use,
  • Gentle,
  • Promotes growth,
  • Strengthens nails

Amazing nails!

"I bought it and I was skeptical. The first set I put on looked horrible so I took them off. They soaked off within 5 min using acetone remover. I applied the tips again and they turned out amazing. If you havent done this before you will need some practice, but it will turn out great. They feel as strong as acrylics and they dont harm your natural nails."

    Pros:

  • Easy to use,
  • Gentle,
  • Good price / value,
  • Good sizes for your nails,
  • Promotes growth,
  • Strengthens nails

    Cons:

  • Should include more gel

"[...] Have just spent 2 hours putting them on- first time use and so far no odour, look as professional as many a salon and not particularily fake. I've had acrylic, silk and gel nails in the past costing from £75 ($150 )down to £40 ($80) . Even if these dont last more than a few days they are better value!"

    Pros:

  • Cheap with salon results,
  • Easy to use,
  • Gentle,
  • Strengthens nails

Worth the money

★★★★☆

"I love the french acrylics but I just can't afford to keep up with them so I decided to try this kit.

This kit was cheaper than actual acrylic kits and is a beginners type of thing, that is why I got it.

The people who are saying it takes "forever" to dry, got the gel to activator ratio wrong - as I did the first time I tried them. Second time around, it took about 30 minutes to do the whole process and they turned out great.

I got compliments on them at work from girl's who had obvious acrylic nails done at salons.

The only CON I have is that they cracked or splintered I guess, which might be a result of me working as a cashier and handling heavy groceries etc. for hours a day. I had to touch them up almost every day until I ended up taking them off.

If your hands don't take much abuse though, I think they could last quite a while.

AS LONG AS YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS carefully, and take your time when first doing them - they should come out pretty nice. If you rush through it or don't follow even one step - you will have a MESS on your hands, but that would be your own fault."

    Pros:

  • Dries quickly,
  • Easy to use,
  • Look like salon acrylics

    Cons:

  • Mine seemed to crack

"I don't know why this product got some bad reviews, but it worked beautifully for me! I watched the video guide [...] before and during the application and it worked wonderfully! The result lasted for 3 weeks before I filled it with extra gel. All in all I was VERY satisfied and they felt just like my natural nails. Best Thing: My nails were undamaged when they came off!"

    Pros:

  • Easy to use,
  • Natural looking,
  • Video guide on website,
  • Worth every cent
