"This is a great printer for home use. The ink cost is very low and the quality is great. The initial cost is very low. Two different paper trays and it prints duplex. What more do you need?..." Read Full Review

"I use this printer for my photography business. I have had it for a year. The last few months this printer has quit working and continues to give error codes. When it works it is a great printer. It is not reliable. I am a die hard Canon fan, but I can't recommend this printer...." Read Full Review
Pros:
"I bought this printer for printing photos and I am exceptionally pleased with the quality of its output. Colors are acurate, picture detail is very sharp, print speed is good, and the included software for printing photos is robust and easy to use. The top load paper tray works well for photo paper and plain paper. I have only printed 12 to 15 4" x 6" photos and the printhead alignment patterns thus far, but the printer monitor still shows the ink cartridges as full. I am curious to find out how many photos can be printed with a set of cartridges.
I am unimpressed with the bottom paper tray for 8-1/2" x 11" paper and the quality of print on standard copier paper. The bottom tray is cheaply made, unintuitve to use, has very low capacity, and does not work reliably. Make sure you have the rear paper jam access cover properly inserted if you have trouble with paper feeding from the bottom tray. Print on standard copier paper tends to bleed through to the back of the sheet, so ink usage may be high on plain paper. I only intend to print photos, so these issues are not concerns for me."

"I bought this printer to replace an Epson that I was unhappy with. Its great, its quiet. It has two paper feeders so you can have regular and photo paper loaded at the same time. The photo paper guides hold the printer paper on both edges, allowing for a more accurate feed. The quality of the prints is great as well. Canon's printing software is also nice, although I think that there older version was easier to use."
Pros:
"I take a lot of pictures and bought this printer so I could print good photos at home.
Here are a few things about it.
Assembly: It takes a little patience to put it together, but it is the only time you will need to do this besides replacing ink tanks, and the manufacturer gives you easy-to-follow directions.
Ink: The printer(pixma ip 3600) has 5 individual ink tanks so it takes much more printing to run out than the printers with just a black and a color tank. I tried out the non-OEM tanks which costs 10 times less. To me, they seem to be just as good as the OEM tanks.
Printing: As far as quality, the printing is good. Speed; however depends on what you're printing. A normal 8.5x11 document takes about 5-10 seconds, while a 4x6 photo prints in around 40 seconds. 8.5x11 and 8x10 photos can take up to 3 minutes.
One thing I didn't like about the printer is that it didn't come with a USB cable to connect it to the computer, so I had to get one myself (they are very cheap). Also, this ONLY PRINTS. It doesn't fax, copy, or scan.
Overall, this is an excellent product, and I think it earns all five stars."

Cons:
"This is a nice little personal photo printer, that is inexpensive and easy to use. The Canon paper is already cut to size, and does not need excessive drying time. Colors are crisp, clear and vibrant and are meant to last a long time. Set up instructions could have been more descriptive, and less fragmented especially where installation of the ink head and cartridges are concerned."
Pros:
"This printer is quite easy to install drivers for and use pretty soon after opening the box. The picture quality is very crisp and clear and prints in no time at all. I have had HP printers in the past and while they are great this printer runs circles around my last HP in speed and in print quality.
I would recommend this printer to a student, additional office printer or a main home printer. Wonderful buy."

Cons:
"Bought the printer in mid July, it is a bit slow but for the money, no complaints. Its been GREAT on ink, I do alot of photography and have been printing a great deal of photos, haven't had to change any ink cartridges yet. I print mostly 8X10's and 5x7's, so I'm very pleased by that. Overall I'm well pleased with my purchase. I even printed some photos from my phone and they printed great."
Pros:
"I really like this printer. It is much quiter then my last printer. I was able to set it to turn off after not usuing for 15 minutes automatically. It prints great. Didn't take long to install softer.I mostly use it to print documents. I am looking forward to see how it prints photos.. The first ink cartdrige was hard to open. But like the fact that I only have to replace one cartride at a time instead of the whole think."
Pros:
"With 2 paper paths you can load it with regular print paper and photo paper or 2 different size papers for printing. Not the fastest printer ive owned but not a slouch either.
Great photo printer up to 8.5x11.Love the color better than my 9500markII.So if its for me and its letter size or smaller Ill print it on this.Love CANON equitment, youl never go wrong."
Pros:
"i purchased this printer for casual use. mostly printing out my baby girl's photo for families.
set up was a piece of cake, and printing quality was way better than i expected. i just bought used canon eos 30 dsr camera, this printer handles fine quality pictures, too.
i will recommend this printer to everyone who doesn't want to spend more than 100 dollars."
