"While I don't own this product I was with a group in Yosemite Vally that had one. The ice lasted 7 days with a little added to top it off on day 4. "I pack frozen fish to take to Japan from Alaska. Fish was kept cold when it arrived after 5 days.
Frm what I use this cooler, I really don't think the beverage holders are necessary.

"This cooler is great because it keeps things remarkable cold. Ice didn't melt for 3 days! Cleans easily. The cup holders on top are convenient in the boat. It's not a very large cooler, though, so is only for day trips or short trips. I also miss wheels. "
