"I purchase this vacuum as my son has asthma and I wanted a vacuum with a HEPA filter. I am satisfied with the performance of the machine in terms of the dirt picked up. However, the first vacuum I received was used for one full cleaning of my 2200 SF house and then the head stopped working. It did not seem to be receiving power. [...] I was able to exchange it. "I first bought a Miele S4210IA which is comparable in price only - it was a horrible vacuum. I decided since my mother owns an Electrolux (which she's had for more than 25 years and loves) that I would try it and return the Miele. I glad to report that it was a very good decision. The new Electrolux is great! It's very easy to use and not at all over-engineered like the Miele."

However, the first vacuum I received was used for one full cleaning of my 2200 SF house and then the head stopped working. It did not seem to be receiving power. [...] I was able to exchange it. However, the second vacuum I have received still seems to have some kind of short between the head and the main body of the vacuum, as when I fully extend it, it will at times temporarily lose power. Since I am trying to keep my floors clean to sell my house, I can't go without a vacuum for another 2 weeks while Abes returns it, so have just been living with it. However, I am in fear that it will go completely out and I will not be able to do anything about it at that point. I would not be able to recommend this vacuum."

Cons:
"I researched vacuum cleaners for several months before I purchased this Electrolux as I have two dogs and two cats and live in a very dry climate. I had an upright that was so heavy, couldn't get under things as it was so big and sounded like it was always going to take off, not to mention not very effective of working the way an expensive vacuum should. I actually enjoy vacuuming now. This picks up all of the pet hair, brushes the carpet great and it practically glides itself. I have a mix of tile and carpet and it works perfectly on both and it easy to carry upstairs. Thought I am not very fond of the swivel to one side-I am getting used to it. I also don't have dust flying around when I am vacuuming getting back onto the furniture I just dusted --it really is an excellent vacuum."
Pros:
Cons:
"I tend to vacuum every day due to lots of dog hair and an active household. This vacuum has the best suction that I have ever seen. I have literally burned through vacuums from frequent use. It is easy to maneuver and very lightweight. The best overall feature however is lots of suction. I have hardwood floors throughout my home and lots of area rugs; it is great on both. I highly recommend this vacuum."
Pros:
Cons:
"Loved it before and bought exact same model again. We owned the central vacuum system when I first came into contact with Electrolux. I recommend it more than the uprights. The only downfall which is not the fault of the vacuum is the carpet we now have is so high that the suction of the vacuum goes into safe mode and stops."
Pros:
"Overall, this is an excellent vacuum cleaner. I have hardwood, tile, and carpet throughout my home, and it cleans all surfaces effortlessly and thoroughly. It's also nice and light, which makes carrying it between three floors and cleaning stairs very easy. It's very powerful--it picked up dirt in my carpet left behind by my old upright vacuum. It's also significantly quieter than my previous vacuum.
Two minor annoyances are: the vacuum bags are rather small, and the handle rotates only to the right (clockwise), not the left."
Pros:
"I like this a whole lot. I read the other reviews about the noise and was worried, but it's not. It's rather quiet. Only real issue that I have with it is that there are many components which cannot be stored on the actual body of the vacuum, so it would require that I be careful with keeping them together"
Pros:
Cons:
"This is an amazing vacuum. It is powerful (12 amps), lightweight and excellent for cleaning/dusting everything: hardwood floors, carpet, walls, mini-blinds and door frames.
One design defect is the power off/on button is located exactly where you hold the vacuum nozzle, and causing the vacuum to turn off while using it."
Pros:
Cons:
"This vacuumn is excellent for picking up pet hair! It is very light and easy to use. I would highly recommend it! I use it twice weekly (minimum). The only improvement I can think of would be to have the attachments in another place."
