"Be sure to know that this mattress if only for bunkbeds with a full board available to rest on it as the matress does not have a backing board to it. Works well with the mates bed, too, which is a good thing that's what I purchased? Also, this mattress is better for smaller children -- a nice transitional mattress because it's thinner than a traditional one so children aren't that far off the ground. But a heavi..." "At first glance, this looked like a great deal. A small foam mattress for under $50. Sure! Brought it home, took it out of the box, the cover looked fine, it seemed somewhat supportive. Set it up - still seemed fine, if a little wimpy (but, you know, foam for $50 won't be that thick, right?).
Within a week of sleeping on it (this was purchased for a medium-sized adult), the middle sank like crazy, and the mattress seemed to morph to each side leaving a dent in the middle. We had assumed (as stated above) that it was foam for such a cheap price, so we unzipped it to see if the foam had squashed down or something... and inside was a bunch of compressed, recycled fabric/material. Not cool. There was ZERO indication on KMart's website that it wasn't made out of foam or some other reasonable mattress material. It's not durable at all - it's a cheap piece of junk that is not a deal for the price, because it deteriorated so quickly - now we have to go figure out how to purchase another mattress on our budget. Very disappointed."
"These mattresses are fine for what we needed them for. Our two young children were moving out of toddler beds and into bunk beds....so this was simply a transitional mattress. We are more than likely going to need to get replacement mattresses in the next 6-12 months. These mattresses would be better described as TWIN SIZE MATTRESS PILLOWS. They are probably going to flatten out over time as they are closer to a pillow than a mattress. With that being said, they are perfect for now and actually quite comfortable. Great for a spare bed that isn't used often or for two children who are just moving into big beds if you don't want to spend a lot of money."

Also, this mattress is better for smaller children -- a nice transitional mattress because it's thinner than a traditional one so children aren't that far off the ground. But a heavier person would probably be uncomfortable using it because there is not much padding or support to it. Overall, this is what I was expecting."
"Bought these for my boys bunk beds (they are 2 and 8). My 8yr old hates sleeping now because he is soooo uncomfortable! He's actually having back and leg pains from them. The mattress are so bad that I have to fold up two sets of comforters to use as cushioning until I can get them REAL twin mattresses. I feel horrible that he has to go through this. They shouldn't even call these things mattresses - they're just pads - just take them off the market. Unfortunate to say, but for $50 a pad, you really get what you pay for."
"I bought these a year ago for my 5 and 7 year old. My 7 yr. old has been complaining that her side and hip hurt in the morning. I laid down on her bed and the mattress is so thin you can feel the slats underneath the bed. I bought them with the bunkbeds. I would not recommend these to anyone, even short term. Plus, what in the world are they made of on the inside. It looks like insulation.(that can't be good) my daughters both have allergies, Im sure these don't help any."
"I bought this for when my young granddaughter visits. Just to make sure, I slept on it myself with the mattress on the floor. I did bottom out -- I'm a large man -- but it was more than comfortable enough to sleep on again.
The price is amazing. Although I would not suggest this mattress for continuing use by an adult, I would not hesitate to recommend it for uses like mine: occasional visits by children.
I do not have enough experience to comment on its durability."
"We purchased 2 of them for my grandson's new loft bed. He has been sleeping on a memory foam style bed, and a regular mattress didn't seem like a good fit. Two of them on top of each other work great. They do have a thinning effect if you child is heavier, as we found when he had friends sleeping on them for a few days with him. Excellent for smaller children up to about 40 lbs. The mattress stays cool to the touch, and he has been sleeping perfectly."
"I discovered what i thought was excess dirt on the floor under the bottom bunk bed of one of my girls... come to find out it was all the micro fibers or whatever this thing is made of seeping through the cover (unzip it and take a peek inside the cover). So imagine all that my baby sleeping on the bottom bunk bed was breathing in from the mattress on the top bunk bed... and yes, alergies! I would not recomend it to anybody!"
"As another reviewer wrote, this mattress is not best for every day use. It doesn't provide the (necessary) firmness that more expensive mattresses provide. And it tends to flatten out after a night of sleeping. BUT, I bought it for the top bunk of my daughter's bunk bed, which is seldom used for sleeping. It has been good choice for occasional sleepovers and guests, as the shape returns after lack of use."
