"I have four animals in the house and I have extremely long hair. This vacuum does a great job of pulling up everything that gets ground into the carpet fibers. It does blow out a bit of dust, but whatever blows out is nothing compared to what it sucks in. I need the light weight because I have problems with my shoulders. I can vacuum the whole house without creating pain; very nice because what good is a vacuum if you can't use it? I also like the narrow cleaning head because I can get it between chair legs without having to move anything around. Again, because of shoulder pain, the less I have to shift, the more likely I'll complete the job each week. This is a good, light duty vacuum at a very reasonable price."

It goes from bare floor to carpet easy. Then up the stairs and in all the cracks. I use it twice a day and the container still picks up dirt.
