Speed Trumps Weight
"I commute 5.5 miles one way to work, about a mile on a dirt road and the rest on pavement. Flat tires on the way to work suck, and I live in 'goathead' country...those pesky 3-spiked thorns that love to grow up through cracks in bike lanes...if you don't have them where you live, be thankful. Not 'Goathead' Proof
"I also live in 'goathead' country, as another reviewer stated. I've put about 500 miles on these tires and I've had 3 flats due to goatheads so far. That's way better than my old tires, but it's not what I expected from a 'kevlar' lined tire. Other reviews are pretty accurate..it's a good tire at a great price, great for commuting on the mountain bike, but not 'goathead proof'...." Read Full Review »

"I put these on a trashed mountain bike I pulled out of the dumpster here on base.
They have been totally excellent all the way around. I use them to ride back and forth to work and to ride to the gym. My trip to the gym includes about 200 meters of "desert pavement" which can shred softer tires
